Congratulations to the MWSA U10 State Champions!

Congratulations to all the Manly Warringah Softball Association U10 Girls who won the State Championships on May 1-2, 2021.

After narrowly missing out last year, when they came runners-up to Cumberland, the MWSA team - with many of their players returning for their second year - went undefeated through the tournament in 2021.

In defeating Cumberland in the Grand Finals, MWSA continued a long-standing rivalry with CNSA that dates back to at least 2006. Since then, either MWSA or Cumberland have taken the Championship, with the win this year seeing MWSA take a 12-4 lead in the competition.

Particular congratulations go to Caitlin Fox, who represented Peninsula Softball Club for the second year running. You can read about Caitlin and her softball experience here.

Caitlyn was joined by Peninsula player, coach, and manager Kellie Cohen, along with Gai Cohen, who was the team scorer.

A special mention should also be made of Bridget Baldwin and Annie Hawthorn from Peninsula Sparrows who played for Softball Campbelltown U10 Boys Teeball Representative team in the State Championships.

The Campbelltown Boys team also went undefeated throughout the tournament to win the U10 Boys State Championships

Finally, Lucy Bedingfield from Peninsula Sparrows and Grace Kuga from Peninsula Phoenix played for Central Coast girls Rep Team. Way to go girls!

Well done to all the participating players, coaches, and managers, and especially to our Manly Coaches for their hard work and coaching: Sue Brandenburg (Head Coach), Kylie MacFadzean, and Dani Armour, Gary Peacock, along with Junior Coaches Charlotte Curulli and Rachel O'Connor.
